History
The building is over 250 years old and was originally mentioned in the 17th century as a country inn with an in-house brewery.
In 1812, the area was divided, and at that time, the building was not yet known as Hotel Benger.
In 1896, Heinrich Benger purchased the inn with its brewery, where he also brewed his own beer.
In 1928, Carl Benger and his wife Maria took over the property, expanding it with a hotel.
After World War II, the hotel was reopened in 1945, and a community kitchen was established in the old brewery, providing meals to thousands of people daily.
Over the years, the building was further expanded, including the addition of a hotel wing in 1953.
Since 1969, the hotel has been operated by the third generation of the Benger family, namely Carl-Josef Benger and his wife Ulla.
Since October 2006, Alain Michelis and his team have maintained the house’s family-oriented atmosphere. The hotel is open 365 days a year.
